JANUARY 2016

We were very proud to watch Junior pupils Lottie and Isabel dance alongside Inters pupil Katerina in this year’s pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.  Well done girls!

Congratulations to Junior pupil Violet for her voiceover on CBBC’s Lifebabble!

FEBRUARY 2016

We were very proud of Infants pupils Mia and Ona as they took to the catwalk at the G Live Guildford Wedding Show.  Junior pupil Luca also enjoyed a fantastic run of The Winter’s Tale with the Guildford Shakespeare Company.

Huge congratulations go to former GSYP technical and performance student Rosie who has been offered a place to train in technical theatre at RADA.

Junior pupil Lucy has renewed her contract with the UK tour of The Sound of Music, playing the part of Brigitta.

MARCH 2016

Well done to all our beautiful Junior and Senior Ballet students for doing brilliantly in your Grade 3 and 4 ISTD Ballet examinations.  We are very proud of you!  Over 250 entries were made this year in our Trinity College London Drama, Singing and Musical Theatre examinations across three venues.  Each student did brilliantly and the level of work was truly outstanding!

APRIL 2016

We were delighted to join forces with the Guildford Youth Theatre this April to stage the cult classic musical Little Shop of Horrors at The Electric Theatre, Guildford.  The entire production was performed and technically supported by our students, all under the age of 16 to a packed house.  What an extraordinary achievement.

We really enjoyed watching two former pupils excel in their onward professional training this month.  Former pupil Alex performed in his first public show at GSA, where he is studying on the BA (Hons) Acting and former pupil Sophie performed at the Olivier Awards alongside her Arts Ed classmates, where she is studying Musical Theatre.  Former student Kieron also enjoyed performing at the V&A museum with his drama school colleagues from Mountview, where he is now in his second year studying Musical Theatre.

MAY 2016

Congratulations to Senior pupil Keir as he joins the Grange Park Opera cast of Oliver! playing the role of Charlie Bates.

A huge GTS well done to Inters pupils Meghan and Isabel, and to Junior pupil Lottie, who have been offered a role in the ensemble of this year’s pantomime at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Aladdin.

JUNE 2016

This month 100 drama students will take to The Electric Theatre stage in Dahlicious!  This is our dramatic tribute to the favourite author Roald Dahl in his centenary year.

JULY 2016

Over 160 students will perform at G Live this month as part of All The World’s A Stage, as GTS celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare through a musical exploration to his work.

AUGUST 2016

We return once more to The Electric Theatre for our ninth year of Guildford Summer Youth Projects, producing four shows in two weeks with over 150 students!

SEPTEMBER 2016

Congratulations to Junior pupil Sam who has been cast in All My Sons at the Rose Theatre, Kingston.

OCTOBER 2016

Wishing Senior pupil Keir the best of luck as he begins rehearsals today for the national tour of Big, alongside Denise van Outen, Gary Wilmott, Jay McGuiness and Diane Vickers.

We were very proud indeed of our lovely students who performed in the touring professional production of Aida at GLive.  Our students will be reprising these roles for the Woking leg of the tour in 2017 and returning to GLive with the company in February.

Huge (or maybe shrunken) congratulations to GTS Junior pupil Samantha who successfully auditioned for a role in the GLive leg of the national tour of George’s Marvellous Medicine! We are very proud of you!

NOVEMBER 2016

Over 75 pupils from GTS aged 8 to 18 will be performing across three professional operas at Richmond Theatre this month, performing chorus roles in Aida, Nabucco and La Boheme.
